Intermediate Result announced, Students are not satisfied

A large number of students are not satisfied with their results after the declaration of Annual result of Intermediate examination 2011. Their disappointment rose when Sara Abbas, student of Mansoora Degree College who was originally the first position holder in Annual Intermediate Examination Humanities Group was deprived of her success after getting just 29 marks in Education Part 2. Yesterday hundreds of students came to the board for re checking of their papers, they said that they were distinguished students in their institutes and in the result either they are declared as fail in some subjects or they only got the passing marks which are very below from their expectations.

There are a number of students whose numbers for different subjects has not been entered in their result card issued by the board. This is why the parents and schools and colleges authorities have refused to accept the result. Yesterday was also the last day of submission for application of rechecking for the 9th class. The teachers and the parents have demanded for the Chief Minister Punjab to design a committee to review the results announced this year. This will find out the mistakes and will help to secure the future of the deserving students. They also requested Chief Justice Pakistan and Chief Justice of Lahore High court to take some action against this fouling of result. The Government and the education department has not yet taken any action against the Board's higher authorities and the I.T consultant Majid Naeem who are responsible for it.

Chairman Lahore Board has suspended Tariq Masood, who is the incharge of computer section and also made a two member committee for investigation of the incident. The spokesman of board has told the media that special counters are made for the students and all of their problems are getting solved. He mentioned that there is a possibility of error in total marks of some of the students but it is not possible to have such a large number of students with same error. Students should submit the application for rechecking and after investigation if the board is found guilty, the rechecking fee will be refunded to the students, he said.
